| SIPT - Sensory Integration & Praxis Test |
The Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) measures sensory processing or perception that is related to academic achievement, language development, and social behavior in children 5 years of age or older. It also evaluates the child's ability to successfully move in the tangible, physical, two-and three-dimensional world (praxis). There are 17 subtests. They fall into four overlapping types. - Motor-free visual perception
- Somatosensory (soma- means body)
- Praxis
- Sensorimotor
By administering the SIPT, the therapist can target the treatment plan to address the child's specific deficits. The treatments can then be more focused leading to quicker attainment of goals set and minimizing the amount of therapy needed.
